I likely call my lenses by the old lengths. Over time, we upgrade. I know there have been some minor changes, but who cares if it is a 70 or 80 to 200? It doesn’t make any difference. I know I have one of those, an 80 to 400, a 17 to 20 something, a 20 something to 70 or 80, and fixed length lenses – 8 MM f/2.8 fisheye, 16 MM fisheye, 14 MM wide, 24 MM tilt/shift, 35 MM t/s, 85 MM t/s, 85 MM f/1.4, 300 and 400 MM f/2.8. Of the latter, I KNOW the focal lengths, but the zooms? I know I am close.
Yes. The files are much smaller. Who cares about storage? No one, really.
HOWEVER, the cards download to the laptop much faster, and once the image is selected, and/or edited, it will upload to the mother ship MUCH faster. Since that is often a cellular connection, and sometimes satellite, it is important.
Canon 580EZ? …. is the audio dubbed or something else?
You can shoot at the same burst rate with raw. the burst just ends sooner because the buffer fills.
The big lens didnt look that big untill he turned the lens cap around…
Jpg is much easier to send and upload. Generally images that are used do not have to be very large and generally end up B&W anyways. Also, when shooting sports, photographers shoot in 8fps+ bursts, which you can generally only do with jpg.
LOL random Nikon bag XD
i dident know that.
surprising to see majority of editors want images in JPEG format and not RAW..
any one know why?
Regardless of how long they go, 1 spare battery for two bodies seems risky. I carry at least one spare battery per body. Usually one extra.. I can tell you that more times than I can count on one hand I’ve saved a fellow photog’s life by lending him a battery when his died. It earns huge points and really improves your reputation in the industry if you’re prepared and willing to help a fellow out.
I seriously have to point out how futile it is to nit-pick over the details. Nikon/Canon who cares? Also, who cares if it’s 80-200 or 70-200. You use it the same way. Maybe he got in the habit from an old 80-200 he use to have on Nikon, or whatever. Harry’s talking from a very practical point of view.
Yeah, lol! Nikon in Canon?
Cool vid for the rest. interesting stuff
Good info but Harry needs to be sure about his gear, I hope he means a 24-70 2.8, 70-200 IS 2.8 and a 580EX flash
Nikon bag in a Canon bag?
okay will try. Hoped he had a personal website *s*
google his name. you’ll find loads of his shots
The truth isn’t fair then i guess…… sporting events in other countries aren’t as “nice and professional” as in America. American sporting events have a LOT more money invested in them. I am not trying to down anyone or any country just stating facts.
nice guy…
Does anybody know where to see some of his pictures. I tried to look at Getty, but could not find out how to search for names…
awesome.
On a 1.3 crop it’s around 16 or 17mm. I think that’s what he’s referring to.
hes a legend,i have just bought a nikon 80-200mm af ed lens, does anyone know anything about it?as i got no instructions with it,
cheers
it’s actually a 15mm fisheye lens…
That is one monster of a lens!!!
i second that!
I think that you have the best “what’s in my bag” video. Thanks for sharing!
