this guy is so funny
The legend goes that while dancing to Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch on a beach in the South Pacific, Nietzsche spotted Steven Seagal under a palm tree.
Mistakenly believing Seagal to be a Mexican, Nietzsche pulled up his bikini-bra and zapped Mr Ponytail with a bolt of lightning from his mutated clitoris-nipple.
Whether or not this is true remains conjecture.
The only account comes from Jean Claude Van-Damme who, as we all know, is Belgian and therefore not to be trusted.
this guy is a complete asshole, fuck him.
“don’t go on about it, I’m not gonna do anymore” lol

Have you been killing jewish people?..
Pfff….. … what?
Ricky’s boody hilarious. Defnitely top comedian with Dylan moran, al murray and jimmy carr.
i totally agree with nejcdebevec. gervais and izzard are the best at what they do. some people just do not get rickys humour and i feel sorry for them.
both gervais and izzard are world’s best comedians, and they have very different jokes, so nobody is a hack.
dunno about dane cook, he is good, but he will never be that funny as those two
I love nietzche’s work
Fair enough. Although Dane Cook actually took jokes almost word for word from several different comedians, which makes him a thief, not just a hack. And I’d say Gervais definitely has more talent than Cook. The Office and Extras are great shows, and aren’t contrived.
Difference of opinion, then. Some people didn’t think Dane Cook was a hack, either. I remember seeing him on a big tour special right before his career took a nose dive… he was featured with actually legitimate comics like Dave Attell and Greg Giraldo.
How is it the same exact way? Eddie Izzard’s dialogue is far removed from Gervais’s. They both use dialogue to further a joke. The way Izzard does it is different. He puts on accents, is much more active and covers far more (for want of a better word) zany subject matter.
Any analogy you want to use is fine…my point wasn’t that Steven (always get ph/v mixed up) Wright was similar to anyone, but that it wasn’t fair to call Gervais a complete hack.
“any comedian who uses dialogue between two characters is ripping off eddie izzard?”
The only other comedian I’ve seen use it the way Eddie Izzard does is Ricky. And it’s the SAME exact way.
“Calling Gervais a rip off of Izzard is like saying Demetri martin rips off Stephen Wright.”
Actually, Steven (not Stephen) Wright’s style is more like Emo Philips’ style. But I still wouldn’t say either of them rips the other off since Emo plays a complete freak and Steven’s a bit more normal.
What, so any comedian who uses dialogue between two characters is ripping off eddie izzard? And what about the reactions and timing?
Yes, they both have superb comic timing. That’s a big part of why they’re both such successful comedians.
Ricky Gervais is NOT a hack. Sure he has his influences, but there isn’t a comic alive who doesn’t. Calling Gervais a rip off of Izzard is like saying Demetri martin rips off Stephen Wright.
Dry your eyes.
this izzard comparison is interesting, and one i didn’t think about before. Very interesting.
Izzard isn’t the only comedian who uses pseudo-dialogue.
Don’t need to. I have all his entire collection on DVD and I can honestly say I do not think Gervais has ripped Izzard off. Okay, maybe Izzard has had some influence on him but he is influenced by many comedians and so is Izzard himdelf – its not a case of comics ripping off other comics.
Yeah, you’re right… Eddie Izzard’s much faster-paced.
But style and reactions are total ripoffs. Just search “Eddie Izzard Star Wars Cantina” for one example. Or any of his bible videos…
