big heavy boots, what a maniac

  2. 86lenny says:

@kencoa Agree with you 100 % ! I hated what Vince was doing to pro wrestling back in the 80′s ! Thank God for WCCW, Mid-South/UWF, Mid-Atlantic, and Memphis wrestling.

  3. chrischar1969 says:

    Scared in a worked sport…

  4. digital2500 says:

This was the magic of George Michael. He made non-wrestling fans care about wrestling and made wrestling fans revel in great national stories like this.

  5. AlbanianMan says:

    George Michael died today. RIP

  6. kencoa says:

The Von Erichs were the best wrestlers going. I always made it a point to watch my UHF station to watch WCCW every saturday. It was when the fruitcakes like “Hulkamania”, “Macho Madness”,”Honky Tonk Man” et. al, who turned wrestling into “Sesame Street” in tights that I got sick of wrestling. At least the NWA had wrestling for us adults to watch. Even to this day I can’t watch WWF vids from 1985-1996 because it was so ridiculous.

  7. FuriousTM says:

Yea i seen it too,Fritz pushed them boyz too far

  8. PhenomAJ says:

Thanks for the extra info train and NWA. Verne never pulled the trigger on a Hogan title reign, a stupid move on his part. Outside of Kobashi’s entrance when he fought Samoa Joe in NYC, I have NEVER heard a crowd as loud as when Hulk pinned Bockwinkel in 83. Verne was as clueless as Vince was with Goldberg.

  9. NWA1985WCCW says:

Yes bit the physical labor and dedication and athleticism are not. It can be brutal and injuries occur. It’s right up there with any other sport. Maybe even more so, for there is no off season.

  10. NWA1985WCCW says:

That may be wrong. Verne Gagne started to stiff Hogan on merchandising profits. hogan agreed to 50/50, Verne was greedy. While I’m not defending Hogan (Flair and Martel could wrestle circles around him), Verne messed up his entire organization because of stubbornness and denial. Virtually everything used to start Hulk and Wrestlemania came from the AWA. Hogan may have burnt bridges, but Verne flat out messed up. If not for that, wrestling could still be good maybe.

  11. NWA1985WCCW says:

Ric Flair also mentions that in his book. Although sad, not a surprise. I actually didn’t find out til I read the book, which I got as a present last Christmas

  12. cyberob12 says:

Ric Flair in the 1980′s was scared of the Von Erichs and got himself DQ to hold on to the World Title.

  13. chriskoob says:

looking at the video its clear as glass that mike would have had no business trying to get back in the ring, but fritz just didnt seem to want to pull his sons out of the limelight, mike’s brain damage, kerry’s drug problem’s , chris’s size, and when david died that was really the beginning of the end

  14. sanjeevksharma says:

Great video!!! Congratulations to the Von Erich family for going to the WWE Hall Of Fame…they absolutely deserve it!!! When you see this piece at 3:05…the match between Kevin Von Erich and Ric Flair is a match I still remember to this day. When Kevin pinned Ric for the 1, 2, and 3…it was one of the greatest moments in Dallas sports!!! We were cheering and jumping up and down for Kevin. I was 11 years old..Kevin was disqualified for the match because of using the top ropes to win….

  15. 86lenny says:

That match Fritz had with Bundy had less than 10,000 people in the stadium. Some huge crowd !

Loved the Von Erich’s though. People, look up Fritz vs Baba from Japan 1966. It was a great match and Fritz stiffs the shit out of Baba ! Great stuff !

  16. tattypatty says:

Al Michaels? Did you even watch this fucking clip before you posted it? I have no idea why anybody looks up to this family. Spoiled junkies leading empty lives. Watch the Cornette clip where he shoots on them.

  17. slydewinder says:

Sorry but David did overdose. Brody found him dead in the hotel room and flushed the pills down can because he didn’t think it help anyone to know. It’s in either the book “Brody” or “Wrestling at the Chase” both
by Larry Matersk (sp) who was a promoter in St.Louis and friend of the family and Brody. It’s all so sad, what a shame.

  18. ECOOL76 says:

I love how Kerry won the NWA title with a backslide. Those were the days…

  19. lrhs993 says:

I knew Kerry and Chris Von Erich and I counted them as my friends. Granted their families had a lot of tragdy in their lives, but they were fantastic wrestlers and each one had his own style and when they cam togehter as a tag team of 2 or 3 everyones eyes and hearts were with them. They were electric in person and wonderful to their fans.
I will always love them as wrestlers and as gentleman. They’ll always be my favorites.

  20. gokevingo says:

Fuck you you stupid fuck, everyone loves the von erichs, dont say shit about them, they were the best wrestlers ever. they made mistakes but they were the nicest people in the world, everyone who met them says they were so nice. not like jerkoff!

  21. mattszegda says:

Oh, vonerichfan! It’s people like you that made dope fiends like them rich. They missed shows left and right, and when the sots DID show up, they couldn’t be trusted. The whole family was a menace: to wrestlers, to motorists, to fans…not to mention to themselves. You reap what you sow. Their arrogance alone was unnatural and weird. Their addictions made them unlikable and impossible to trust. Each had the soul of a hyena. They were misshapen and crooked and bent. They are not missed.

  22. gokevingo says:

I remember chanel surfing and stopping at the 700 club and realizing the von erichs are on giving an interview, i didnt recognize them because they were all dressed, i saw the very end just before they went to commercial, did any one see that interview, i assume they were on there talking about how it was a miracle that david survived, i wanna see it so bad!

  23. biged469 says:

“David just stepped through a door that we all are going to”. Man that is tragic.

  24. osahar08 says:

hey mattszegda they are legends whether you like them or not It was just wrestling a staged show for you and me to enjoy. They are gone for real have some respect and class they wrestled for you even if you did not like them they did their jobs, just look at the impact they had on you that makes me love them even more your insides AND outsides are rotten.U r a hater cursing the greatest family in wrestling history well after they have moved on who’s the coward now LONG LIVE THE VON ERICHS. R.I.P

  25. gokevingo says:

shut up, you are stupid and jealous. i bet your a low life thats got nothing better to do then enjoy suffering of others, lets see what you say when something bad happends to you
